I
began my professional career by starting young thoroughbreds
for the track and also completed farrier school in Tucumcari,
New Mexico. I worked as a farrier professionally until a
knee injury caused me to quit working that way full time.
I am different than other trainers. I take the mules I have
in training and ride them as my own personal mount on my travels.
Since my passion is to ride in
the mountains, high desert or the beach, the mules get a broad
variety of experiences. I only take a small number of mules
at a time, to insure quality.
I
got my first mule on a whim; it was a problem mule I thought
I could fix. This mule helped
me realize what little I knew about mules and how they think.
I
started to go to natural horsemanship clinics and found a
better way to work with them.
